Why All the Excitement About Clinical Trials?
Clinical Trials have been used by Medical Professionals and Researchers to evaluate the usefulness of the Buteyko
Method in reducing Reliever Use & Preventer Use. All had positive results.
Six
Clinical Trials Show Big Reductions in Preventer Use
People are concerned with
the dangers of long term steroid use. Trials reported in 6 countries since 1998 show that, on average, Buteyko reduced the
use of steroid preventers by more than half (i.e. 52%). This was a very significant drop in steroid use.
2006 Canadian Trial ..... Buteyko Results Delight Doctors
"I've been astonished and also very pleased with the excellent
result. (Due to Buteyko): There is no disruption of their life at all by their disease. Normal activities; not
waking at night; not needing to use any reliever medications. It (Buteyko) is just great. The neat thing
about it is that it has no side effects. It's very safe."
Dr. Robert Cowie, Chief Respirologist/ Chief Investigator of the 2006 clinical trial,
Foothills Hospital, Alberta, Calgary.
Huge Decreases in Reliever Use
UK clinical trial in Nottingham found that the Buteyko Method reduced Reliever use by 100%. The average decrease
over a total of six trials was a huge 89%.
Living Symptom
Free
All six trials showed that learning and practicing
the Butyeko Method allowed participants to live with very little need for their asthma relievers. This is great
news for those who want to avoid the potential complications and health issues of reliever use.
The Gisborne Trials..... Kids Really Get Something
to Shout About
These trials focused on children. The results were the same
as with adults i.e. big reductions in both Preventer and Reliever use.
